Dear Lord, please bring her back to your fold
I saw her change, my heart crashed to the floor
In her stumbling, now whose hand did she hold
Watching my daughter choose a new direction
Not knowing the cause or what to do
Fearing her soul had a hellish infection
I begged, Dear God, cleanse her anew
Our Shepherd will search for one lost sheep
Leaving the flock to find the lone stray
In His care every child He will keep
This I believe as once more I pray
The pleasures of sin the world displays
Dangle from strings tied to a web
in the chamber of the one who betrays--
Please God, help her know You instead
Days grow to weeks, my prayer unanswered
Dear God, I’m at the end of my rope
Break Satan’s grip, let her conscience be stirred
Call her back to You where there’s promise and hope
Days later I notice a voice mail blinking
A message from my daughter estranged
She shared ideas that she had been thinking
Tears in her voice, she was ready for change
Her eyes now open, her mind understood
That her “friends” with whom she had strayed
Lacked all that she knew to be true and good
And recognized how her life had decayed
Tonight God’s shawl of peace I wear
And my heart is no longer weighed down
His answer has come to my fervent prayer
Back in the fold, His child has been found
