Meeting tourists wherever we’d go,
We had never seen one less attractive
Than a fellow in San Diego.
With so many places and sights to enjoy,
We had chosen this place for vacation.
Museums and symphony beckoned to us
In this beautiful, peerless location.
This unsightly traveler we happened to spy
Had a brow over deep, set-in eyes.
He’d a strong overbite and a whiskery chin,
While his ears were of quite a large size.
We saw him while watching a baseball game
At the park where the Padres were playing.
There he poked his chin over our shoulders
As our hotdogs he kept on surveying.
From beaches to boutiques to galleries,
We wandered all over the town,
And at each attraction we’d visit,
We’d find him there, hanging around.
This tourist we’d found ever-present
Was considerably ugly to view,
And we weren’t surprised to discover
Was a runaway chimp from the zoo.
