“Oh, boy,” she mutters. “A three hour drive in major traffic, watching 50 men crack their skulls, fighting beer-drinking massive crowds and then even worst traffic after.”
“Sounds great!” she shouts back to him without taking her eyes off the Disney movie that she’s watching with the kids.

The college path wasn’t for him. He joined his father’s business and works long and hard hours to make it a success. She took the college route for a medical degree. She works long and hard hours to contribute to family finances.

She opens the blinds and cranks the windows wide open in the family room. Sunlight peers in while the breeze cools and refreshes. She is going about her day’s activities when he comes in.
“Honey, it’s a beautiful day. Come out and enjoy it.” He’s been gardening and doing outside chores.
“I enjoy the outside from the inside. See?” as she points to the bright room.
“Okay, but you don’t know what you’re missing.” The door shuts behind him.

Innumerable books that he’s read are stacked on a desk, under his bedside table and tucked in boxes. He is almost always reading two books consecutively. She hears a book review, thinks it sounds interesting and buys it. The interesting book goes from the kitchen counter to end table and then to the book shelf. As she gathers things from around the house for donation he forbids her to take any of his books. She drops that interesting book, along with 5 other unread books into the box.

“You awake?” she whispers in his ear, knowing he’s still asleep, but still hoping he will get up.
She rises well before the crack of dawn to greet the day. His response is grumbling and rolling over. He rises hours later refreshed and ready to start his day.

They snuggle together on the couch after a long day at work, TV is on, remote in his hand. He flicks through each of the 100 channels and usually stops at the news station. He could watch it 24/7 if possible. Being updated to current events and politics is something he doesn’t tire of. She would rather watch a sappy chick-flick, so she fidgets and whines. They settle on repeats of Gilligan’s Island and both fall asleep before it’s over.

The pressure is intense. A major family decision needs to be made. A cooling off time is essential at this point. She paces in the living room. He sits solemnly in the garage. Hesitantly, she goes to discuss it with him again. He takes her by the shoulders and tells her what’s best for the situation.
“That’s exactly what I was thinking!” she sighs.
They hug.

She’s an anti-rebel, goody-two-shoes, self-righteous sinner that went to church her whole life. He a self-proclaimed rebellious sinner that did not go to church most of his life. They both accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior in the same year, in the same church.

God brought them together and God brought them to Him.
Three cords are stronger than two. Let not anyone nor their differences tear apart what God has brought together.
“Honey, I got tickets to Disney on Ice!” excitedly she yells from the computer.
“Oh great, another one.” He mutters. “Driving through city traffic, watching 50 women and MEN in tights skating in endless circles, fighting crowds of screaming cotton candy-eating kids and then even worst traffic after.”
“Sounds great.” He shouts back to her without looking up from the football game he’s watching.
