Such an excellently written family story. I loved your grandmothers grit, determination and uncommon faith (which, by the way, I think would have also made an excellent title for this piece).

Oh what a gift to have Ira as your grandmother! This beautiful story will carry on her legacy for generations to come. The fact that you wrote it intertwines her legacy and yours. So touching and not soon forgotten.

This is powerful stuff - and so descriptive. My only bit of red ink is that you identified her as your grandmother in the first paragraph, when you could have held that revelation back until your last line. I feel this would have given the story an extra punch.
