Has found a poorly filled in hole
It's like the bowl that masks my soul
To scope its contents is our goal
Joel grabs a shovel and two hoes
While I re-stoke my Yellow Rose,
A potent lamp to help disclose
What ghostly shadows may repose
Inside this ogled well long closed
Where old bones doze in frozen pose
Whatever grows beneath their toes
May throw foul odors at my nose
But we'll both probe 'til we strike gold,
Turn over soil as yet un-trolled,
And show up lies rogue soldiers sold
"His body stolen" we've been told
But is it so? We have to know
What say the artifacts below
Enthroned beneath the melted snow?
A glowing "yes" or loathsome "no"?
Near opened ground we moor our rope,
Then carve a jagged, downward slope
We comb much loam and grope for hope
Oh, what rank stench! How shall we cope?
By shining Rose on all that chokes:
The weedy yoke, the stone that cloaks,
Black coals that reek of nasty jokes,
The idol's grove that feeds the hoax
All vice dissolves beneath her strobe
The veil is torn, we see the robe
New visions light my frontal lobe
They must be spoken 'cross the globe
For now, behold! We've reached our goal,
Evoked our trove and found our scroll,
One tattered talent now made whole
He lives, it proves. God's grace extol!
Our Lord, you see, endured harsh blows,
With death abode, then up He arose
To show the news, it's us He chose
All false reports we must expose
To every hollow we must go,
Proclaim the cross that all may know
We won't stow Rose behind some bow,
So don't be slow to let her flow!
Do not allow your lips repose
But well before the rooster crows
Announce the truth to friends and foes
Compose bold poetry and prose
Design a card, propose a toast,
Inscribe a note, release a post
In blessed Savior make your boast
Promote his fame from coast to coast!
