Come rollicking, frolicking in.
They toss and tumble, roll and rumble,
As though in a race they must win.
They hurl their hats in the salty air,
And they call to the rising sun,
“Oh come and play with us today;
We’re planning on hours of fun.”
They carry rich gifts in their pockets,
Fine treasures from nautical stores.
They’ve myriads of loveliest sea shells
To bring to the wide sandy shores.
They swell and swirl in a curve and curl,
With a pattern never ceasing,
Until the time that they slide away
With their hold on the beach decreasing.
Like a crowd of courtly gentlemen,
Who bow with a most charming grace,
The waves start receding in dignity,
Still showing their bright shining face.
They ripple and drift and gently rock,
Moving out imperceptibly,
Revealing marine life left behind
From out of the depths of the sea.
The tides’ in-and-out steady rhythm
Is reminder of God’s constancy.
As I gaze at His wondrous creation,
I’m amazed that He thinks about me.

"Like a crowd of courtly gentlemen,
Who bow with a most charming grace,"
As always, you've written a lovely poem. Kudos.
How WONDERFUL God Is.
Loved the rhyming rhythm here and the visual of tossing hats, filled pockets and courtly gentleman. I could smell the salty air. Thank you for sharing this. GREAT use of the topic.
Yes, I never cease to wonder why God cares for me.
