Through the pain of these days, the Shepherd has reminded me of the value of song. His storehouse is full of melodies and tunes, perfectly fit for every situation. They are weapons of war, sung between Father and child, Creator and creation, for the dismantling of strongholds. Songs sung for His honor and glory, to accomplish His will both in Heaven and on earth.
As my mother-heart has cried out for peace and comfort, a vision of the exchange of Kingdom-melodies has been given...
*******
The eyes of the Father and Shepherd searched His creation. Longing to help His children in their troubles, His gaze roamed over the whole earth, settling on one of His daughters, who was also a mother.
Her son had left. Trouble had beckoned and the young man had answered. Her heart felt shredded by the ache and anxiety and though victory over worry had been established at the cross, the discipline of faith needed to be worked into each moment.
The Spirit of the Father, who was also the Worship Leader, suggested a heavenly melody, “Lord, you have my heart, now I will search for yours…” And through her singing, the dissonance of worry was dispelled by the harmony of her surrendered pain.
As she sat in the garden, the Creator summoned His feathery choir of birds to sing over her. Melodies and harmonies of His love were chirped and whistled. Kingdom words, previously planted in her heart, surfaced:
“The Lord your God is with you,
He is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17)
She received the melody of love and was comforted.
Now the eyes of the Shepherd rested upon the young man. The miracle of rebirth and regeneration had begun in his heart years before but Trouble had persistently beckoned, causing lies and confusion to penetrate.
With limited understanding and no thought for tomorrow, he was following Trouble’s path away from his land and people. His unsettled and wandering heart tried to make his own way. The Savior and Father knew the uniqueness of this dear one and sang melodies of promise about his future. Though not acknowledged consciously, the seed of life within him received the song:
“For I know the plans I have for you,
declares the Lord.
Plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
Plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
Trouble’s hold on the young man was strong, so the Father and Commander sang a song to rally His troops to the front lines.
“If my people who are called by my name,
Will humble themselves and pray and seek my face,
And turn from their wicked ways,
Then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin
And will heal their land.” (II Chronicles 7:14)
The call for intercessors was heard and accepted by many, fasting and prayer breaking out in response to the Commander’s melody.
The Shepherd turned again to His daughter. He knew she desired to walk in peace so He sang a song of His intent to comfort her:
“For this is what the Sovereign Lord says,
‘I, myself, will search for my sheep and look after them.
I will search for the lost and bring back the strays.” (Ezekiel 34:11,16)
Her heart understood this song of action, the Father’s melody striking a chord within her and she joined her voice with His, declaring to Trouble that his day was soon over, the battle and victory was the Sovereign Lord’s.
Standing firm in the Truth, the Master’s many melodies resonating in her spirit, she responded using the words of David, another child of the Shepherd:
“Find rest, O my soul, in God alone;
My hope comes from Him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation.
He is my fortress, I will not be shaken.” (Psalm 62:5,6)
And with that song and declaration, she pressed on.
