Topic: Dust: To add fine particles, or to remove them (11/13/25)
There is no greeter story than
The one of God’s creation,
Results of which can be observed
By every tribe and nation.

And everything He made was good:
Earth, sea, sky, day, and night.
Creating sun and moon and stars,
No doubt, brought Him delight.

When we explore God’s Holy Word,
We see that He used dust.
Examples which we find of that
Are worthy of our trust.

And could it be, when God made dust,
That man was in His mind?
For He used some to fashion him
And then made womankind.

Ecclesiastes 3 foretells;
To dust will man return.
That’s when the soul has gone beyond,
The best I can discern.

One time the Lord mixed dust with spit
To give a blind man sight.
We can be sure that when God works,
He always gets it right.

Religious leaders brought to Him
A woman who had sinned.
From message He wrote in the dust,
They slipped away, chagrinned.

God has a use for everything,
He planned before creation.
May II fulfill His plan for me
For my Lord’s affirmation.

What a great meditation on dust! I liked how you started with the creation of man from dust in Genesis to the return to dust in Ecclesiastes. Then you showed us examples of how Jesus used dust to heal the blind man and how he wrote on dust to shame the self-righteous religious leaders. And I love that you end with a desire to fulfill His will as God knows how to use all of us dusty selves!

This poem is a great reminder that God’s creation reaches out to every tribe and nation. I liked how you wove different stories and situations where dust was used throughout the Bible.
