too short to fuss
to sweat
or quarrel over
the trifles or the trivial
They say time flies
It eludes us
without knowing it
just like making a trip
to a grocery store
After the trip
you are no longer
a child
but soon return
as a grown up
Make another trip
you come back
as a middle aged
and your youth
has left you imperceptibly
I wish
my time was well spent
and had few regrets
it was too late
when I realised it
Contrary to my ways
are the Lord’s ways
neither can I fathom
His thoughts that are higher—
a day is like a thousand years
A thousand years
is just like a day
though it seems
His coming is delayed
or He is slow in keeping promises
Yet it is not
He is patient towards us
not wishing that
anyone should parish
but all should reach repentance
I must make up my mind
for time marches on
into eternity
without biding
or giving ample notice
