to save me from sins
and damnation
becoming a man
he died and rose again
He came down from above
in His veiled glory
instead of all the pomps
a normal life he lived
for our sake
He came not for the crown
but the painful cross
He willingly died a sinless death
as a criminal of His days
just for you and me
He came to show
the Father’s love
and the narrow way
that leads to Life
instead of death as punishment
He came to show me
my need for Calvary love
and His richest grace
and extravagant mercies
beyond my human grasp
A new lease of life
I have now received
love joy and peace
that His Spirt gives
to accompany me
He gives me hope
to look beyond
the pandemic
as I now journey on
in life here
