It’s vacation time. Are you planning a trip, looking forward to time at home, or a combination of both? Take this quiz to find out what kind of traveler you are. Write down your answers, and then follow the instructions at the bottom to calculate your score and see the results.

1. Do you like going to new places?

A. Are you kidding? I’m cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs when it comes to experiencing new places. Nothing makes me happier.
B. I love having a change of scenery, but I’m also glad to come home and get back into my routine.
C. Sometimes I like to sit on the couch instead of the recliner.

2. What are some questions you ask when inquiring about your ideal vacation destination?

A. Is there good food I haven’t tried before? Are there unique attractions? What kind of adventures can I experience there? I could go on, but I need to take a breath.
B. Is this a place where I can balance time to explore with time for just relaxing?
C. Do I have to wear pants there?

3. How many trips have you taken in your lifetime?

A. Too many to count, but I get away any chance I can get, even if it’s just for a long weekend. I’d rather pick the sock lint from between a stranger’s toes than to miss an opportunity to take a trip.
B. I’ve taken one every year since I’ve been out on my own.
C. Does going to the neighbor’s house count?

4. How broad have your travels been?

A. I’ve gone to three other continents and visited 20 other countries. When it comes to traveling, I’m all over it like cheese on macaroni.
B. I’ve been all across the United States, and I hope to visit other countries someday.
C. I crossed the state line once, but I came right back.

5. Which modes of transportation have you used in your travels?

A. Planes, trains, ships, buses, taxis, rental cars, you name it. I’d hitch a ride with the Road Runner if I could.
B. Planes. And I went on a cruise once. I’d like to take a train ride someday.
C. Do my childhood roller skates count?

6. Do you enjoy planning trips?

A. I spend a lot of time researching and deciding where I want to go and what I want to do, packing everything I can into my schedule. When I plan a trip, I’m like the Energizer Bunny on steroids.
B. I like to do a certain amount of planning, but I also like to sign up for tours where the planning is done for me.
C. I plan my supper meal just right to make sure I make my trip to the living room in time to see my favorite TV shows.

A – 3 point
B – 2 points
C – 1 points

14 – 18 points – You were born to travel. It’s in your blood, and you can’t imagine your life without it.

9 – 13 points – You enjoy getting away, but you get your fill after a while, and then you’re happy to go back to the comforts of home.

6 – 8 points – Traveling, eh. Not your thing. You would rather stay home and bathe in pickle juice than to go on a trip.
