Against you every day,
And failures smother your efforts,
And wishes float so far away,
That’s when you need attitude,
Your mind must be renewed.
You’ve got to have attitude,
The attitude of gratitude.
When you’re feeling all alone,
And you’ve lost your dearest friend,
One who shared your every dream,
Now time stretches without end,
That’s when you need attitude,
Your mind must be renewed.
When you have the necessities
Even more than some might own,
Don’t look at things of others,
Giving your voice a grumble tone.
You’ve got to have attitude,
An attitude of gratitude.
Perhaps you’re quarantined,
And cannot join festivities.
Find blessings blooming ‘round you,
Not planting negativities.
That’s when you need attitude,
Your mind must be renewed.
You’ve got to have attitude,
The attitude of gratitude.
When others whisper behind you,
Accusing, gossiping, and lying,
Remember those who have been faithful,
And One, upon His strength, relying.
That’s when you need attitude,
Your mind must be renewed.
Not looking at the storm clouds,
Nor at the burdens you must bear,
But count the blessings He has given
Overflowing, enough to share.
You’ve got to have attitude,
The attitude of gratitude.
So face the day with head held high,
And sparkle each step of the way.
Don’t spread a cloud of gloom around,
But choose to shine and joy display.
That’s when you need attitude,
Your mind must be renewed.
