TITLE: Good Wishing Witches | Previous Challenge Entry

Susie was a witch, and a good one at that. She had seen the little girl fall out of the swing when no one else was around. The girl hit the ground on her back and broke her neck.
Susie had been hiding on the playground, well out of sight, when she saw the little girl swinging high in the sky. She loved to watch other children play, and she especially liked to watch this little girl, because she sensed this child had a sweet and gentle heart. She was not allowed to play with the ‘normal’ children because the whole neighborhood knew her mother was a witch. Parents told their kids to have nothing to do with Susie, because she was the spawn of the devil.
All at once the little girl's mother came running. As the child was regaining the life that Susie wished back to her, the mother started shouting at Susie, thinking she had somehow caused her little girl harm.
"Go away, you little witch! You've hurt my child!" The mother screamed at Susie.
"No, I didn't hurt her! I only wished her back to life!" Susie yelled out as she ran away.
The little girl got up and walked away, but she knew that Susie had saved her life. The next day the girl saw Susie hiding behind a tree, watching her. She felt drawn to Susie as if by magic.
"My name is Samantha. Thank you for giving me my life back. I know I died, and I know you somehow wished me back to life." The little girl reached out and hugged Susie.
Susie was overcome with joy to have a friend, but she had to tell the girl the truth. Samantha was now the same as Susie.
"I’m Susie, and you're welcome. There's just one thing you need to know. I am a witch, and once you are saved by a witch, you become a witch yourself."
"Wow! You mean I have supernatural powers?" Samantha gasped.
"Yes, but you must use your powers only for good. Be careful, though, if you tell others you're a witch, they won't like you anymore."
Samantha was so excited, she rushed home and told her mother she was now a witch. The mother immediately banished the child from her home.
"I'll not have a witch for a daughter! You are no longer mine. Go away from this house. Go live with the witches."
Samantha went to live with Susie and her mom, using her supernatural powers only for good. She healed many illnesses, although she had never used her powers to wish back a human life. She came to love her life as a witch. Her own mother was a mean woman, but Susie's mom was sweet and pleasant.
“Always follow your heart when using your special gift, Samantha. Always act with love.” Susie’s mom instructed.
One day Samantha’s father came to the door of the witch's house. He told his daughter that her mother had died. Samantha hurried to the side of the woman who had banished her, and feeling only love for her, used her special powers to wish her mother back to life, thereby turning her into a witch.
However, being a mean and hateful person, her mother became a bad witch who was ostracized and eventually burned at the stake.
The moral of this story is: A person becomes who and what they really are when given power.
*I know Jesus is the only One who was ever capable of raising the dead. However, the genre is fantasy, and this is my fantasy story for Halloween.
