dust to dust
our bodies
return
from whence
they come
eden is hidden
secreted away
but once in a while
she comes out to
play
eternity
is found
etched
on our hearts
yet we’re bound
to the earth
for better or
worse
and if for a moment
we enjoy life
abundant
it’s for but a time
played out
on this orb
for death keeps
to his
ultimate role
killing and
stealing
and tearing
huge holes
and our tie
to the earth
cannot be
ignored
we eat from
her hand
and drink
from her womb
the piper will call
the price will be paid
and into her arms
we all will
be laid
but only the body
did she
give a form
the worms may take it
while our spirit
lives on
our
breath
is from
God
and to
Him
we return
because
of the
priceless
covenant
ties
