This is a very good poem. It flowed well. Awesome work!
Lovely piece. I adore the flow and message of this charming poem. :)
This was a well-written poem on the subject.
I love the whole concept of "walls talking/and what they hear." You've captured many aspects of home activity in this heart-warming, well-written poem. I especially like the images of this, "Like children grown who came again -- With little girls and boys, -- Who brought with them a special joy -- And filled the house with noise." --since that is where our home seems to be at the present time. :)
Lovely work! Great poem laser-targeted to topic.
Wouldn't it be cool if walls really could talk? I like that idea, and I like this poem. The passage of time was well done, and the rhythm and rhyme near perfect. Thumbs up!
Happy picture, happy poem, happy lives. Thanks for sharing.
I enjoyed this. Watching the progressions of both the house into the family home as well as the newlyweds into the welcoming grandparents enhanced the natural flow of the piece. I found myself with one spot of odd rhythm, but I’m not a poet and yes I do know
Verna, this is so good and so typical of your writing! Your meter is always perfect and so is your rhyme. I love this poem and I hope you place high with it.
Ah, indeed, if only the walls could talk, eh? I liked the last verse best of all. Great job, Verna! ^_^
Oh-so-lovely, as usual for you, Verna! You have a gift for poetry and it's always a joy to read. Love the concept and the verses in your poem.
Verna, this "If Walls Could Talk" is so packed full of energy and the essentials to making a happy home. If walls could talk, they would have plenty to say. They would say thank you for the wonderful memories you packed into a short, enjoyable poem. It says it all! No wonder you are in Masters...Thanks, by the way, for your encouraging comment on my challenge entry, Memory... It meant a lot...Helen
