Topic: Christian Baptism (10/18/07)
The Son was raised from the water,
A prime example for all.
A dove reached up to touch the Heavens,
Witnesses stood in awe.
…And God smiled.

The old man came down the aisle,
His face streaked with tears.
He fell to his knees before his Maker,
Knowing that it was time.
…And God smiled.

The little boy held his crayon still,
Thinking of the lesson.
He loved God and wanted salvation.
His decision was made that day.
…And God smiled.

The young woman in shame and guilt,
Knelt at the Father’s feet.
She begged forgiveness - sins removed.
A brand new child was born.
…And God smiled.

The man stared down at the river,
Fear gripping his soul.
To follow Christ meant certain death.
But true life would overcome.
…And God smiled.

As the water rushed around me,
I felt new life begin.
It took me years to see God’s love,
Now I gave myself to Him.
…And God smiled.

This is an absolutely beautiful poem The last verse was my favorite. I love the "And God smiled" repetition.

Beautiful. FORM-I especially liked stanzas 1 and 6, where the second and fourth lines rhymed. TITLE-excellent;Heaven rejoices when we accept Jesus as Savior.
