Each had failed miserably in their assignment. He was going to enjoy knocking a few heads to insure he had their attention, so he could give them a refresher course in how to deceive.
His piercing beady eyes studied the nuances of each as they moved through the room. “Losers! Each of them,” he scornfully thought. “But I will soon whip them all into shape!” he arrogantly promised himself.
Deliberately clearing his throat with a thunderous rumble to announce his presence, he stepped out of the shadows. Oh, how he reveled in their reactions! His size and looks were known to shake many when they saw him. The power he felt from it was exhilarating! All in front of him were now terrified, yet oddly excited too. He could sense it.
He reveled in it just a little longer as he scanned the room, now and then catching an eye filled with stark fear. Oh, how he loved it!
“Listen up!” he growled out. “Find your seat fast, for the last one standing will know why,” he finished menacingly. He could feel their desperate fear rising as they scrambled, pushed, shoved and beat on each other as they fought to grab empty seats. Dolion breathed deeply of the euphoric feeling of power their fear was giving him. It was intoxicating.
He watched as the last few standing jerked their heads around, desperately looking for an empty seat. Then one of them suddenly glanced down at one smaller than himself. Viciously jerking him to his feet, he quickly slid into the now empty chair.
The room grew silent as all eyes locked on the last one standing. Looking confused and shocked from being suddenly thrust from the safety of his chair, he started to tremble. It was eerily quiet as everyone intently watched, not wanting to miss seeing what happens to him.
Dolion burst out in evil laughter. The unexpected sound grabbed the attention of all.
With the odd laughter still hanging in his voice, he declared, “I never tire of that entertaining example of why you’re here!” He paused, enjoying the confused stares. “To serve your masters and our Supreme Leader,” he pointedly reminded them, “by bettering your deceiving skills!
“You were all an unwitting part of showing how it’s done,” he sneered. “Now you failures are going to learn how to SUCCESSFULLY do it yourself, starting with a reminder of our purpose.
“Our purpose,” he reiterated, “is to first and foremost, help our glorious Supreme Leader and masters rid the world of the Light’s presence and influence, whose name we won’t speak for it sickens us ….” Dolion’s voice choked at the mere thought of Him.
Swallowing hard, he continued, “And the best way to do that is with our favorite three, ‘hatred, fear and deception’. Hatred and fear come naturally, but deception does not. It’s an art, a skill that needs to be developed and honed as we go.” Glancing around, he saw them nodding in agreement. “Just the way I skillfully deceived you all with my ‘last man standing’ ploy!” he declared with a twisted smile. “For nothing happened, did it,” he proudly proclaimed. “But I fooled and terrified you all!
“So, let’s get started with my favorite bit of trickery and deception that can seriously weaken the Light in any target’s life, which some have coined, ‘Frenemy’! The target enjoys and feels safe with a trusted friend. But at just the right time – BAM!” he yelled, loudly slapping his giant hands together so they all jumped. “They discover their so-called ‘friend’ is really a deceitful enemy – thus a FRENEMY!” Dolion finished with a flair. “The target then goes through all kinds of crippling feelings: anger, betrayal, violation … grief … and even better, the longer negative feelings can be made to last, the more it causes His Light to dim in their hearts to one degree or another! And for some, it goes out. POOF! Gone for good,” He exclaimed with a wicked, eager smile. “Now,” he continued, “You already know your job ….
“Are you ready to see how it’s done?”
Ephesians 6:12 NIV: “Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

But seriously, your message is clear and well expressed - apart from what caused my grief. Please note, I'm speaking as a friend - not as a frenemy...
