escapes without much hope,
hunger rises yet again,
bitterness; my way to cope.
Sad eyes linger in the rain
pain, it seems my only meal,
burnt by missed expectations
nothing to make my scars heal.
Abused by selfish pride,
waste – for another’s gain,
my needs are forgotten,
all life begins to drain.
My dreams are all filled with rust
shadow’s glance becomes my dance,
my days consumed by complaints
as anger’s breath; I romance.
A pocket full of lollies
yet I’m starving for my worth,
wounded by my indifference,
bruised by the stains that I give birth.
Striving within the battles
sees me hangry and deeply scarred,
desiring a sugar hit,
missing the beauty of the hard…
Jesus gives abundant life
saying eat My flesh, you must;
surrender to My sacrifice
in My precious blood do trust.
Drink from the water that He gives
to quench your thirst; deep within,
take the true bread from heaven
with His amazing love begin.
Another glorious sunset
as I hunger for God’s blessing,
not found in the sweetest candy
but in His grace refreshing!
John 4:13-14 NKJV Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
John 6:32 NKJV Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven.
John 6:53 NKJV Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.
