We can mend his broken bones, give him sight and hearing,
We can do a transplant and give him a new heart and lungs,
But we still cannot heal his broken soul.
We can train him to do a job, so he can make a living,
We can give him a new hair style, even make him trim,
We can remove his appendix, to make him well again,
But we still cannot restore him from his sin.
We can spend a fortune, to make him attractive to the eye,
We can remove unwanted hair and remove his extra chin,
We can heal his cancer, and fix his impotence with a drug,
But we still cannot help him to fulfill, what he was created for.
We can educate his mind, making him a brainiac,
We can give him a degree, with a fancy hat to wear,
We can let him give in to all of his selfish desires,
But we still cannot feed his appetite, for his value is incomplete.
We can give him a computer, to do his tasks for him,
We can give him all our information, giving him more knowledge,
We can give him many rules, to help him do the right thing,
But we still cannot give him wisdom, or a heart entirely pure.
We can spend six million dollars, but that won’t give him worth within,
We can send him to the moon, but that won’t get him closer to our God,
We can forgive him for his failure, but that won’t remove the shame he feels,
For the ransom that’s needed paid, is a price only our Saviour brings!
