Cathrina feels like the ship. She is in a storm!
Her life and the lives of close family members have changed in the last year. Attacks of every kind against her family have created such heartrending changes. Storms of troubles assail them. Her father and her husband were attacked by chronic mind-altering diagnoses resulting in multiple hospitalisations, and lives changed forever.
Unmentionables have made strongholds in the lifestyle of other loved ones,
but her faith in Jesus strengthens Cathrina’s hull, and God has sent caring praying Christian friends who are helping them carry the load.
“He Will Hold Me Fast” has become her favourite worship song.
“Christ will hold me fast. His promises shall last. He will hold me fast” ..through life’s storms.“Christ will hold me fast. When the tempter would prevail. He will hold me fast” {Song by Keith & Kristyn Getty and Selah}.
A comforting verse comes from the prophet Isaiah.
She knew that many people go through or are going through storms,
God’s words keep her strong.
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” {Isaiah 41:10}
“
Our greatest human example is The Lord Jesus. He is strong. While on earth he was of unbreachable strength. By faith in His Father God and with the help of The Holy Spirit, he sailed through many storms. He even slept through them.
As a man, He was unbreakable. Enemies came after him because of who he said he was, and because of the miracles he performed, and because he loved all people. Scribes, Pharisees and Sadducees, all Jewish leaders attacked him and challenged his claim to be the Son of God.
Mercilessly and relentlessly they persecuted him. Like an unending storm, they came. However, even on the cross, He won the war. He endured many insults, hardships, persecutions and cruel torture, yet He completed his assignment, which was to die for our sins and bring lost ones into the Kingdom of God; as The Way, The Truth and The Life.
“
For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong” {2 Corinthians 12:10}.
