Topic: PURE (09/06/24)
The way of salvation is to be poor in spirit. We've all been there as Christians, though some of us might have been pure as a lily like the young woman who grew up in a Christian home living a moral and respectful life.

It doesn't matter if we are pure as a lily; we all must come to a point where we are broken in spirit and see the need to surrender our lives to the Lord. When we get there and surrender, the kingdom of heaven awaits us.

But following that, the Bible tells us, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." (NKJV). When we think about the purity of the heart, we think about a change of heart. Our hearts are not naturally pure. Jeremiah 17:9 says, "The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, who can know it? …." (NKJV). Our hearts cannot be made pure apart from God's saving grace in our lives.

We are made clean and holy by the Word of God that cleanses us from all unrighteousness. Therefore, we must read the Word of God daily to cleanse our wicked ways of unbelief. As a result, we shall see God, who is pure and holy, and this commitment will keep us on the path of righteousness.
