I accepted the Lord as my Savior since I was a child. Over the years, I got to know Him as my protector, provider, and helper in times of trouble, but I could never say that I love Him even though I knew He loves me.
A few years ago, I started to think about my journey from childhood, and I saw the goodness of God and His love for me along the way. For each step I took, He gave me direction and purpose for my life.
Some time ago, Psalm 91:16 (NKJV) opened a new light in my life. It said, “With long life, I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” And that verse became a reality in my life. Now that I am a senior, “I am grateful, so grateful for His goodness.”
As I thanked Him more for His love and mercy towards me, my worship became purposeful and delightful because my relationship with Him changed.
One morning, while driving to one of the Canadian Hardware stores, I was probably thinking about how God brought me through Covid 19 unharmed and how He showed kindness and provided for me during that crisis.
I will never forget that experience when I parked my car in the parking lot and turned off the engine; I exclaimed, “Lord, I really love you.” It was the first time I expressed my love to the Lord, so it was a special moment. It was an expression from my heart. Since then, I have worshiped Him at another level. Daily, I thank Him for His love and mercy towards me.
Worship, for me, is loving God. So let us adore Him, for He is worthy of all our praises.
