Topic: Division (07/13/23)
" How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High" Isaiah 14:12-14 (KJV)

Here was Lucifer seeking to become like the most High. He was the anointed cherub, perfect in beauty and splendor. He was God's right-hand man, in charge of the angels, when pride came into his heart because of his beauty and power. So, he planned to overthrow the most High to be like the most High.

Subsequently, Lucifer brought division among the angels, and the division caused war in heaven. And what a battle it was! Michael and his angels fought Lucifer and his angels, and Michael won the battle. And God cast Lucifer and his angels out of heaven, and Lucifer is called Satan, and his angels demons.

In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve had fellowship with God. They were united, but that old serpent, Satan, brought division among God and his creation. Adam and Eve disobeyed God by accepting Satan's lies, and God cast them out of the Garden of Eden.

Satan stood between their children Cain and Abel and brought division between the brothers, and Cain slew Abel.

Down through the ages, we see division among the human races. Nation against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and because of division, there are wars among the people, and the people are scattered and destroyed by the enemy.

Even among the Christians, division shows its ugly head, which has been going on for centuries in the churches. Division is the enemy's work, but Christ came to destroy the enemy's works.

In Corinthians 1:10-13 (KJV), The apostle Paul wrote: Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. Is Christ divided? ….

In Christ and Christ alone, we are undivided.

This is interesting. I perfectly concur with what you’ve written.
Another entry this week - written from another perspective - highlights that we must necessarily find ourselves separated (divided) from the world. Both are saying the same thing from different perspectives.
Keeps we Christians alert. Thank you.
