Topic: Proverbs 29:18 (06/08/23)
“Where there is no vision the people perish, but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” Proverbs 29:18 KJV.

This scripture is a declaration of the truth which is the Word of God. And it reminds me of Jesus on mount Transfiguration.

In Matthew 17:1-5, NIV. “After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking to Jesus.

Peter said to Jesus, “Lord it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.”

While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”

That was a supernatural revelation for the disciples to know who Jesus was. Knowing the truth gave them the confidence and assurance that they were on the right path and could not perish but have everlasting life. And because of that knowledge, their spiritual ears were open to hear His Word and to follow Him in the path of righteousness.

Nevertheless, they had to process the vision when they returned to reality because it profoundly impacted their lives. The supernatural changed them, changed their mindset. It was a new journey for them with Jesus. Their choices were affected. They had to deal with men's traditions concerning Jesus, creating conflict within and among them. It was not easy, the vision affected their family lives also, but they had to keep their eyes on Jesus regardless of the distractions. They listened to the Word of God and did what Jesus told them, which gave them satisfaction and contentment.

Likewise, our vision of who we are and what we want to be will lead us to the path where we must go. And that path has specific laws and codes of conduct, but we will be happy if we keep the rules because it will bring us to our destination and fulfill the purpose of our lives.

Very focused handling of this week’s topic.
I know what you mean about a revelation of Jesus changing everything.
It is now longer a list of do’s and dont’s but the law of love. Abject love. Not a perfect outworking of that love all the time, but His love for us is and He is faithful.
What a vision to hold dear.
