“How could Charles do this to her?” was the recurring thought.
Now everyone will know. Her husband was two-timing her and it was all over the news.
She was angry and yet ashamed.
She thought that they were happy!!
And to make it worse, it was with her friend Kay that he had the affair.
Her spirit was crushed. She was tired and heartbroken.
She withdrew from everything, even from church.
At least, there were online services.
After the divorce and the division of property, she lived in a vacuum.
No joy and nothing except work. She cried a lot too.
Her health began to be affected.
Aches and pains, those bouts of tears and no appetite for food or fun.
There were dark days.
Some friends tried to reach out to her but she trusted no one.
Some months later, she began to feel a little better.
She took to taking long walks and the sunshine, birdsong and wildflowers warmed her heart.
She used the time to talk to God and cry out to him.
She continued to read her Bible and listen to the local Moody Radio.
Charles and her had had no children because he did not want any.
But Jane had a secret desire to have children.
There was something about the laughter of a child that made her smile.
Soon, she took a step in the right direction.
She was determined in her heart to forgive Charles and Kay and not be bitter.
She wanted her joy back!
Eventually she returned to church, but sat in the back .
After the service, Pastor approached her and she was so happy to see the compassion in his eyes.
“We missed you.” he said.
She apologized to him because she had not returned their calls.
“We understand,” he said with a smile.
After a pause, he added, “Could you help us in the children’s classes?”
She took a deep breath, paused for a brief second before she smiled and agreed.
“Oh yes!” she said with a smile, and laughed in her heart.
She was sure that she would enjoy doing that as she used to years ago..
Her love of children was a warm spot in her life and would allow her to serve and would be good medicine. She thanked God for this open door.

I think the first sentence would be stronger if you combined the first two sentences.
I was distracted by so many sentences starting with "she". I counted the use of "Jane" twice. You could also describe her as "thirty-year-old woman" (or whatever age) Or you could say, The unfulfilled mother-want-to-be jumped at the chance to teach children."
I did like the story. Keep writing.
