Eating that forbidden fruit, they leaned on their own understanding.
The crafty serpent thus deceived and cursed all humans
Today we still carry the curse...
{Genesis 3}
Noah trusted God and built the wooden ark.
Despite a lack of understanding, he obeyed and took in two of each kind.
God was going to wipe all humans and animals off the earth.
So in they went; his wife, sons, and wives were saved.
{Genesis 6}.
Abraham trusted the command of God to sacrifice his son
He took Isaac whom he loved and laid him down to die.
He did not understand, but he obeyed.
Then, God provided a lamb and saved the boy.
{Genesis 22:1-8].
Job, a perfect, upright, God-fearing man lost everything.
He was tested. God allowed satan to cover him with boils.
So, tortured by pain, Job cursed his birth. He challenged God!
In time, he was healed and his faith was restored…
It took great faith for Isaiah to prophesy.
He spoke what God told him. Such majestic things are to come!
He trusted the Lord..did not lean on his understanding.
He revealed The Father, the coming Prince of Peace, and The Holy Spirit. {Isaiah 9:6, 61:1-3, 65:8, 66:1-2}
David was the unfavorite son but he was a great shepherd.
Had a deeply personal trust relationship with God.
He was anointed to kill a giant with a stone and sling, wrote poetry, and sang songs
“In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me” he wrote. {Psalm 56:11}
Moses trusted God, despite struggles with fear, slavery, and the hateful Egyptians.
God used plagues and firstborn deaths to set his people free;
In desperation, they followed him to the edge of the Red Sea.
The waters parted. For them “It was better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in humans’. (Psalm 118:8, NIV
Zachariah trusted The Lord and spoke what God told him.
“Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation,
Lowly and riding on a donkey, the foal of a donkey”.
He spoke of Jesus. He did not understand or live to see it happen.
{Zachariah 3:8, 9:9 }
Mary was a virgin, yet she was pregnant, and by The Holy Spirit...
Joseph was broken. So much shame! How could this happen?
Then an angel spoke to him, so he chose to trust in The Almighty.
This incredibly, awesome prophesied assignment was theirs.
{Matthew 2:13-15}
Followers of Christ, who is God's Living Word,
Trust in Him as the only Way to salvation and eternal life with God.
Leaning on mind cognition, instead of His Written Truth,
Is the recipe for damnation and eternal death.
Reflect on these many ‘faith heroes’ who trusted and followed God.
Then with all your hearts; turn and plunge into Him,
Despite the troubles, the persecutions, and media pressures.
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” He said.
{Hebrews 13:5b}
