As a child, you always loved this valley,so he willed it to you”.
As the older brother, Lionel was the executor. To avoid sibling rivalry, my father had discussed how the land was going to be distributed, and he had wisely asked each
of us what our favorite part of the estate was. Thankfully,we all desired different parts. Papa wanted peace in the family after he died. The reality of his death was hard and it would take us years to get over the loss.
Truthfully, I tried to be happy about the piece of land but missing him as we did, it was hard.
Similarly, and so much more, Our Father, Jehovah God gave us a piece of His Kingdom if we believe and accept Christ as our Saviour.
The Older brother is Jesus. He is also The Gate, The Way and The Cornerstone.
{Ephesians 219:20}. Our inheritance will be the Kingdom of God. We are joint heirs with Christ. His Word verifies this truth.
Jesus replied, 'Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again. {John 3:3}
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”{Matthew 19:14} “He rescued us from the dominance of darkness..and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son..”{Col 1:13}.
So, when we have become His, we will have peace that comes through the Holy Spirit; “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit”. {Romans 14:17}.
