It is when high school and college are finished.
It is when anything is completed.
It is when I eat the last bite of my brownie.
It is when I finish my book or the movie is over.
It is when I hit “send.”
It occurs when someone dies.
It is when I quit my job.
It is when my last child leaves home.
What is it? Is it not the end? Indeed, some would say it is the end of something, somebody, or an era. It could be the end of school or the end of a job. Maybe it is as simple as the end of my brownie or the end of a book or movie. An end occurs when my last child leaves home and when I hit “send” on an email or article.
However, a new beginning follows an end of any sort. It is liberating when we can look forward to it with anticipation. That is the redeeming factor involved with an end of anything. So, high school or college ends, but many job opportunities become realities. The end of one job signals the beginning of another, more promising one. When someone dies, there is a loss but also the start of something new. When my last child leaves home, it begins a new, more relaxed time of life.
That brings me to the conclusion that an end is also a beginning: something we should look forward to with enthusiasm. Let’s focus on the possibilities of the beginning and not on the negatives of the end.

The poetry format at the beginning would not be my choice for a beginning - but I am a new writer. It did get my attention.
Thanks for the good thoughts and ideas.
Although I would not have used the poetry format at the beginning, it did get my attention. It was effective to "draw me in."
Although I would not have used the poetry format at the beginning, it did get my attention - so it was effective.
Thank you.
