Rough pathway leads downhill through wild shrubs and trees
Each step is measured and slow on barefeet hardened by use
Women walk this route daily to the river swell beneath.
Clean water is key to survival and keeps their children well
No village wells mean a dirty river and all its floating germs.

Over the rugged mountains, the truck chugged on to reach this far off place
Their purpose was to help and sew God’s love.
Ugly cholerae is rank and killing; it must be eradicated!
So on and on they go. They arrive in the village
Selecting a site to drill and restore hope takes time.

After three days of work, there is a liquid result.
Joyful claps, happy faces and squeals are heard.
Now the health of the children, the mothers and fathers,
The goats, sheep, birds and camels will change.
Living can be normal again and diseases halted.

Doors are unlocked, and a way has been opened.
“Sanitation training, evangelism, training in pump repair,
a water committee to oversee well use and maintenance’.
A healthy village can now be independent.
Live happy healthy lives and plant crops.

Saviour Jesus came to bring living water to us.
As the Way, the truth and the life he brought healing.
He brought love. “Love your neighbour” he said.
The journey was hard, he suffered, died and dug deep.
Assigned apostles to change the world with Holy Spirit help.
