Safe places fortified by parapets and curtain walls,
Iron gates guarded by armed men
No enemies can enter unseen.
Rahab lived in a high rise apartment,
Though a prostitute, she spied for God’s people
Using her wall and the signal of a hanging red cord.
She’s in Christ’s genealogy.
All animals yearn for safe places.
God gave them the wisdom to build nests
Made of straw, leaves or branches woven together
Providing rest and security in all weather.
How amazing the fragility of flowers,
Yet see all the beauty and strength they reveal
Their petals facilitate reproduction
and visiting butterflies and birds.
My brick family home is a strong place to live,
But the safest place I know is IN Christ Jesus.
Concrete bricks and mortar do not measure up
To His Glorious Spirit in me.
The impenetrable armour of God is divinely created.
It must be worn by God’s children each day.
Shield, helmet, breastplate, sword and shoes,
Cemented by prayer and unbreachable by the devil’s wiles.
{Joshua 2:15-21, Ephesians 6:10-18}
