Topic: JOURNEY (01/13/22)
‘Climb the steep stairs. Sit in the assigned seat. Buckle up. Shaking hands. Eyes ahead’.

My heart is shuddering. It's my first time on an aeroplane. I am alone, nineteen and about to embark on a nine-hour flight to Europe.
There’s no going back now.
“Stay! Pray!” I say to myself.
“Please fasten your seatbelts.” says the pilot.
The hum of the engine grows louder and louder, higher and faster. We lift off.

Now I dare to look around. I am not alone. I see friendly, impartial passengers and helpful uniformed helpers. I am reminded of life. I am not in charge. My part of the trip is to follow rules and trust The Pilot and His Helpers.

As Christians, life is uncharted by us. Our part of the journey is to trust The Pilot, trust that the engineers did their jobs, pray for good weather, rest and obey.

In life, God is my chosen Pilot. His Helper, the Holy Spirit, is ever-present, whether on the aeroplane or in my life. There are other passengers or fellow Christians on this journey. I’m not alone.There will be choppy turbulent times but because Our God, our Pilot is Omnipotent and loves us so much, he sent Jesus Our Redeemer.

Breathe out the negative, give them to Him. He promises to be with me and to help me. “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee;..” {Isaiah 41;10} Our Father created the sky in which the plane hangs and the wind currents that sway it, so I choose to entrust the journey and my life to Him and His unbreakable promises. Amen! What a great message! The world would be a better place if all Christians would hand over the controls and let the Pilot take us on His journey. Yet, we are all works in progress, and unfortunately we still take too many things in our own hands … Oh how much better would our lives be if we trusted God even in the little things.
