Topic: BEGIN (01/06/22)
Begin. I like that word. We can leave behind what was and start anew. I don’t want to live in the past nor to fear what tomorrow may bring. I want to live in the moment. This is how Jesus wants us to live.

2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (KJV)

I was speaking with someone the other day and he told me an interesting story about his son. He had just picked up his five year old son from school and his son said, “Dad, today is a wonderful day.” Naturally his father wanted to know why. He replied, “I don’t know. It just is.”

I was in awe and then I thought of the scripture from Matthew 21:16b
“‘From the lips of children and infants you, Lord, have called forth your praise.’” (NIV)

Yes, there are tremendous things going on all around us, but in my way of thinking that is why we should be praising Him. Mighty works and miracles happen in the name of Jesus.

When we begin to recognize that our only true source of all things is through the One who gave us life then worry is futile.

“In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1 NLT)

To live each day as a new beginning, opportunity or journey with God is awesome! Rather than waking up and thinking, “here we go again,” you could wake up and say, “another day to do God’s will.”

Maybe you didn’t quite reach your goal yesterday or you blew it with a prospective client. So what! Today is a brand new day to begin again! Leave the past in the past and begin anew.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Heb. 13:8 NIV)

Knowing that Jesus never changes, does that not give you a moment to pause and reflect and recognize, that with Jesus on my side I can begin again. Amen.

As I read your thoughts I thought of our risen Jesus walking alongside the two on the road to Emmaus- they were looking back in sorrow but He was their today- their new beginning. I enjoyed walking along beside you.
