Today was the day. Lucy was sending Lucas her only son off to his first day of school.
She instructed him gently to obey the teacher and respect his fellow students.
Her goal was to teach him what was right.
Using patience, love and positive words she persisted.
Daily she took him to school and gradually as the years passed he was able to walk there with a good friend.
Backpack. Uniform. Ready.
As he grew taller, his term reports showed excellence.
Twelve years later, Lucas had finished high school and joined the Army.
He no longer needed his mother’s safety instructions.
The Army had its own rules.
Rules kept soldiers safe. Lucas needed to be hard, sharp-eyed and in survival mode.
Backpack. Fatigues. Ready.
Like Lucas, Jesus grew up in a small family home.
His mother Mary, is highly respected today.
A gentlewoman who obeyed God.
She walked a journey never walked before.
Mothered her son knowing He was God.
Yeshua, The Son of God, had an eternally impactful destiny and He would change the world.
My mental image of Jesus is of a gentle powerful man who was
God, the Only Begotten Son.
Holy Spirit Armed. Ready.

I like the way you summed it up without excessive wordiness. You take after Someone we know.
