He came to a regular working-class family in Nazareth. [Luke 1:35}
All the neighbours saw him grow up; walking and running on the streets and playing with the local kids.
Bare feet or sandalled on the rough unpaved roads he called home. Dressed in rough woven gowns without trinkets or glitter, he was a human.
He spoke to everyone and was easy to get along with. He kept company with ordinary folks.
Everything was ordinary until his time came to step forward out into his destiny; out of the shadows and be known.
His parents knew he was extraordinary. Joseph was not his natural genetic father because his mother Mary became pregnant without human influence.
He was essentially in disguise; the Son of God came as a man and lived among men.
Imagine the shock in Nazareth; “Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother’s name Mary, and aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? [Matthew 13:55}.
Imagine a poor boy with a following but he was. He called fishermen to follow Him, and they dropped everything and obeyed. They were powerless to resist the call of The Lord.
Hidden in plain sight. The GodMan was disguised as a man.
Of course, He is flesh. He ate food, drank water and wine, slept and shouted when angry, but he raised the dead, healed the sick cast out demons and walked on water. It was not a disguise of deceit because His mission was glorious. To save mankind from the bondage of sin and the devil, he had to come as a man, live as a man and then die. The flesh man was God!
The Only Begotten Son of God; Yahweh sent on an earth-shattering, destiny changing purpose. He was to be The Way for man to return to their true destiny to become sons of God. So now we who believe in Christ have been changed; ‘for we are members of his body'. {Ephesians 5:30}.
His Holy Spirit indwells us when we believe... His Kingdom came to earth because He came!
As Luke, the disciple wrote, ‘Then I remembered what the Lord had said: ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ {Acts 11:16}.
