Topic: RESTORATION (12/03/20)
Peter’s heart was breaking. He could not leave it there!
He was walking around a market in Toledo when he saw it.
He was sure that this was the masterpiece named Creation.
Old, tired, faded and stained but he would know it anywhere. It was stolen in an art theft from the city’s museum some years ago and now he had found it. He bought it. It was cheap.

His purpose was to restore it to its original state.
It would take time. With great care, he began the work. Erma, his artistically sensitive wife would help him. Using paints and brushes they began the laborious restoration in his studio.

This reminded him of what happened when God’s perfect earth was subjected to decay by the sins of Adam and Eve. The decay of the masterpiece is a picture of what happened.

The promise of God is that one day there will be a new earth as the old passes away.
The process of restoration of the earth is totally in the hands of The Creator. Restoration began with The Son; perfect, sinless and revealing to man that God was still interested in His earth.

As Peter brushed off and removed the dross so did Jesus’ blood remove what on earth was ugly to God. He was determined to heal and restore His broken world.
After His death and resurrection, Jesus returned to heaven. “He must remain in heaven until the time of final universal restoration of all things that God announced as it was prophesied” {Acts 3:21}.

Romans 8: 19- 21 tells us that “Creation waits for the children of God to be revealed”....” that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory
of the children of God’. Such hope!

In Revelation 21:5 John writes that 'God is making all things new'. He is restoring things to what His original plan was. All violence will be gone in the new earth. Pain and destruction gone! The old ugly sin nature, cold-heartedness, sexual sins and murders will cease. Those who do not accept Christ will have gone to hell for eternal punishment while believers in Christ inhabit God’s new earth. Lions, cows, lambs, wolves and children will all be friends. No religious or political differences.
New earth! New heaven! No diseases!. No viruses!
God is purposefully restoring His Creation; so He is changing us, just like the artist Tim did the masterpiece. Today Tim’s work is displayed at a secure museum in the city and is admired by all. Let us allow God’s hands to mould and restore us as He lovingly wills.

Interesting story!

This story has amazing potential. Try writing will active verbs and keep passive to a minimum. Instead of telling the reader of the MC's find, put the reader there. Describe the scene, the smells, how his heart pounded when he spotted the old masterpiece. Describe his joy, how he rushed home and showed it to his wife. Cause the reader to smell the paint! Have him dialog with his wife about God's masterpiece, creation, as they work. Keep scribbling!
