Back in 2015 I would have to say that was when the ‘giants’ really appeared in my life. Naturally, there have been other seasons of ‘giants’, but this particular time period was a bit different.
It really started before 2015 and continued on for a couple of years and yet through it all God was with me.
Okay, now that I got your attention I will tell you my story and reveal to you those so called ‘giants’.
My husband was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis which is a disease of the lungs. There is no cure for it. The lungs become hardened allowing no air to penetrate. He had to use oxygen and nebulizers.
During this time I was on disability due to severe headaches and Epstein Barr. The scenario was not very promising.
I went through many different scenes in my head. Praying for a full recovery for my husband and yet knowing that heaven would be the ultimate healing. I was trying to prepare myself for either ending.
A double lung transplant was an option, but his age was against him as well as being on anti-rejection meds for the rest of his life wouldn’t be easy. John, my husband, was a holistic follower so I’m not sure he would of kept up with the protocol if he did obtain a transplant.
He was admitted to the hospital a couple of times, but the last time John had to be put on incubator.
He was in the hospital for a couple of weeks with no improvement. The machine was breathing for him. On March 25, 2015, our anniversary, I had Hospice come in and had John taken off the machine. I did not want to see him hooked up to that machine any longer especially on our anniversary. Once I released him to the Lord he went very peacefully.
Now John had a double anniversary: ours and his in heaven.
My father died exactly two months and a day after my husband. Then my sister-in-law died of the same disease as John, but she had been a smoker.
After that, not sure how soon after, I broke my left wrist and had soft tissue damage in my right arm due to a fall. There was rehab after surgery, but before that I had real problems with the meds. Got really sick on them. Doctor had to change them all around. Needed help because both arms were out of commission, but I survived that ‘giant’ too. Very grateful to family and friends.
I was still having headaches and finally a doctor sent me for a CAT and MRI. They discovered that I had a aneurysm behind the left eye and a benign brain tumor. The tumor was nothing to worry about, but the aneurysm was another story. It required them putting a pipeline into it to close it up and a few hospital visits to check on the progress. These visits were not fun because they required additional CAT scans. Finally the aneurysm fully closed up and I was released from care.
You know what? The headaches were not from either of those issues. I was then sent to a neurologist where I am on a medication for migraines.
I still get headaches due to barometric conditions, but the migraines are under control.
So for about three years I went through an awful lot and my daughter went through it with me.
Again, God was definitely with me. There is absolutely no way I could of faced all of this upheaved without Him. I found that the ‘giants’ that come into my life won’t overtake me as long as I hold onto the hand of the One who carries me.
God says He will never leave us nor forsake us and He surely held me and my daughter up along the way. He is truly a Friend that sticks with you.
I have no words that can ever express my gratitude to the true King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

I would suggest a space between paragraphs to make for easier reading. You have been through a lot and this article strikes me as a diary with an application at the end. Hope things go better for you this year.

Very effective reflection of emerging from uncertainty, painful decisions and things hard to accept. There is hope in what you wrote. Well done.

this article has the meat to become truly inspiring as so many obstacles were overcome. Start with a stronger hook. Rather than simply relate every detail, pull the reader in with emotion. Show how your dear husband struggled to breathe. Show how you ran to Jesus over and over again for the comfort you needed. There is no need to put giants into quotes and mention them repeatedly. Open your hook with the concept of giants and close with the actual wording. So, pull the reader in with a strong hook, keep the reader engaged with strong showing of emotion and finally, give a satisfying conclusion of God's unending faithfulness and the joy of trusting him - even in harsh and difficult circumstances! Blessings on your continued journey into the goodness of God!
