Get up on time.
Do breakfast for the family.
Pack lunch for our kids Theo and Jon.
Showers.
Dress for work.
Dress kids for school.
Get into the car with kids.
Travel to school.
Drop off our kids.
Get to work on time.
Work efficiently for 6 hours.
Speed away to pick up kids from school.
After Dinner Schedule.
Family prayer and daily Bible reading.
Bed.
Sleep.
Start again tomorrow!!
I am a mother. My husband works shifts.
I have great responsibilities at home and at work.
Present and Accounted For.
On Saturdays, we may have fun watching a movie together.
Day of rest is Sunday?
We go to church. Theo and Jon go to Sunday school class while we give full attention to the preaching and enjoy the worship.
Breaks come with vacation time and weekends.
Years of being present and engaged in parenthood, marriage and career.
Looking forward to retirement?
How surprising to find that in retirement, we still have to be present and alert as we help spouse, support ageing parents, pray and try not to worry about our now grown-up children and, maybe help with grandchildren!?
I thank God that I have had the integrity to be present; as a wife, mother and a woman of God.
As parents, my husband and I have as our motive to provide a home filled with love and a perfect nesting place for our young. In order to do this, we have to be present and fully involved.
It is not an easy road to travel but with God's help, we do it. Like soldiers we remain present, wearing the armour of God and engaged.
"We love because he loved us first." [1 John 4:19]
We purposed to be good loving parents to our children, and so does the Lord God. He is The best example of being present. He is in fact, ever-present; Omnipresent.
In His own words; "For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them." [Mat 18:20 ESV]
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you or forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV).
