She had so many redeeming features that Mom and Dad knew that one day she would make a mark on the world and so did her teachers at the Elementary school.
Simone loved to go to church and would sit still during services. She was especially fascinated by stories about Jesus and his disciples. Her favorite was Peter.
” Mom, I think that I am like Peter” she would say with a smile. The story of him jumping into the sea when he saw Jesus walking on water thrilled her. She imitated his actions in their home swimming pool often with the words
“Here I come Jesus!”
As Simone grew older and moved to middle and upper school her impulsive nature remained unchanged. Her hand was always the first up when volunteers were needed. She joined the swimming club at school and won medals each time there was a competition. In athletics, she ran the hundred meters and never lost.
It was no surprise when she was picked by the Athletic club and thence to the Pre-Olympics. Throughout those years of her youth Simone’s faith in God remained and she eventually ran and won gold for her country.
In one of her rest periods, she decided to do an in-depth study of the Bible and after about two weeks she emerged from her room with these words “I have to be a missionary!”
“Please let us pray about this, darling” said dad.
“Okay” she said, “but I will not change my mind. Jesus told me and I know it was Him”.
Months later, after graduation and one year of work at the local gym, Simone came home and said to Jim and Rachael,
“I have saved enough money for my flight and World Vision has accepted me!”
Rachael jaw dropped but deep down she knew. A strange peace filled her soul. They asked the church to pray and were at the airport when twenty-year-old princess fly off.
Again, she had jumped in with both feet, just like Peter did.
She was in the safest Hands possible. It was an act of faith on their part, but they had to release her.
When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he tucked in his garment, for he was lightly clad, and jumped into the sea. {John 21:7 NIV}

Red Ink: Aim to stick with one point of view. While the first two paragraphs seem to be from the mom or dad's POV, the third paragraph switches to Simone's.
