It was a Sunday, so He did what always loved doing: He went to church in Capernaum and began to teach. The service was going as expected, with a great time of worship, lively announcements and a moving time of communion. The congregation was enthralled by His words – such authority. He was just finishing His sermon when a man ran up the aisle, crying out at Him, scaring the life out of the families. The children started crying and the mothers were outraged by the outburst. The men knew instinctively they should do something but they were completely at a loss as to how they should act.

He did it for them. He commanded the impure spirit to leave the man, which it did, but shook him violently on the way. After the service, a group of influential people were overheard near the door ‘tut-tutting’ and saying they should never invite him back. They didn’t like that sort of thing here.

They left church and He had been invited to Simon and Andrew’s house for Sunday lunch. James and John had also been invited so it was a full house. The thing was, Simon’s mother-in-law was in bed sick, and Jesus, having already preached that morning and dealt with a demon-possessed man, was asked if He could help. Of course, He did. The fever left her and she made the dinner.

That evening after sunset, He was inundated with all the sick and, it seemed, the man who had been released from the demon, was so excited, he found everybody else he knew with the same problem and brought them to Jesus. In fact, anybody who was anybody and everybody who was nobody, presented themselves at the door. There was no way she would have enough tea to go around, but she never remembered another time in her life she had seen so many people around her door.

The town was never the same. Those who had been demon-possessed went home sane and free from mental anguish for the first time in years. The sick were healed long into the night. It was a day of celebration and controversy, an exhausting day; a busy day.

Your article grabbed my attention right away. I kept reading with excitement. When I got to the last sentence I was disappointed. I wanted more. Great job.

The only suggestion I would give is I felt the last paragraph could add an additional wow., but that may be my feeling only because I enjoyed it so much.

I enjoyed this different POV on a busy life in the day of Jesus. I thought it clever. I think you could have gone even farther with it and add dialog and body language. Don't be afraid to use all 750 words. You definitely wrote on topic and surprisingly, I haven't read many stories about how busy Jesus was. I like how you handled it.
