Topic: FRESH START (01/05/17)
When Christians live a life that is pleasing to the Lord, as they become the Lord's slave and servant, He gives them a vision that is full of joy. We read in Proverbs 29:18, " Where there is no vision, the people perish, but he that keepeth the law, happy is he."

My wife of 55 years spent the last 15 years of her life living with diabetes with all of its ramifications including amputation, blindness and kidney failure, She was on a dialysis machine for many years which required three hours in the treatment center, three times a week. That was a challenge but we traveled all over the nation as she scheduled centers for treatment, everywhere we traveled. We prayed often for a safe journey and the Lord's help in our daily needs.

When her health really failed, she realized the Lord was calling her home, so she had them stop the dialysis treatments. We talked many of her last hours on the earth about how the Lord had blessed us, with six children, traveling all over the nation and living in Europe while in the Air Force, and retiring on our farm.

My wife and I always put our Faith in the Lord and some of her last words were, " We have never failed at anything as you and I always prayed to the Lord for His guidance and protection before we made any major decision."

On her death bed, she was a happy Christian like I had not seen her in some time. She was over flowing with Joy from the Lord and seeing a vision of the Heaven our living, gracious and loving Lord Jesus Christ had promised her. She was not afraid of the earthly death and I rejoiced with her as she would soon be in heaven with the Lord.

My heart goes out to you for your tremendous loss of your beautiful wife...but your story also will be an inspiration to many as a witness, thereby bringing joy and hope to many.

Your wife is in peace, as you already know, and in the presence of our LORD. You will share see her again one day, but for now, hold on to those memories...and may the LORD continue to comfort you all the days of your life.

I'm sorry to hear of the suffering and loss of your lovely wife. You did a great job sharing how one can walk through difficulties trusting God. It's obvious from your writing that God walked with you and her until the end. Thank you for sharing your heart. It's not easy.
