In this column over the years, I have recorded the healing power of our Lord with the blessings I and others have received by praying to our living Lord. Often, people do not to like mention the physical aliments they have, but when they were healed from a major difficulty the Lord should be praised.
At the age of 84 years young, I can look back over all the times the Lord has answered my prayers when I asked Him for physical healing. As a baby, I was born with a major heart murmur and not expected to live. However, the Lord answered the prayers of my parents and church family. I was somewhat restricted all during my school years and the years in the Air Force but several years ago, the doctors said the heart murmur was gone. I thanked the Lord as I now had a life full of energy and could serve Him better. Then about 12 years ago, I had three mini strokes in a 6 month period and the doctors said I would have a major stroke that would lay me up. Here again the Lord answered my prayers and have not had a stroke since that time.
When I was 79, the doctors that the Air force sent me to in town, did a prostate biopsy and found I had a dangerous stage 4 cancer, which they said was very active. I paid for my funeral and picked out a casket as the doctors scheduled my radiation and hormone treatments. After 3 days of prayers asking the Lord to help me, He said I will heal you and carry your burden. So my wife and I returned to the doctors and canceled all treatments and the doctors made comments that I would be back later and want them to help me. They said if no treatments, then we will not need to see you again. The base hospital took me back as a patient and the high PSA reading returned to normal for my age and today after several scans the cancer does not show up. I praise the Lord daily that he still heals as he did in Matthew 4:23.......and healing all manner of sickness and manner of disease among the people."
I have been bothered with a large varicose vein on my left leg but a chicken rooster attacked me and the vein was broken and bleed. I prayed and when it healed the Lord has taken it away. My foot doctor said that was great as it was healed at no cost and the Lord used a chicken. This past year I was told, that tests show I am on the edge of being a diabetic, so I asked the Lord to guide and protect me, ,which he did. Recent recheck blood tests were taken and my doctor called that I was fine and now a long way from becoming a diabetic.
It is a real blessing to have Christian doctors that believe our living Lord hears our prayers and if it is the Lord's will we will be healed. The healing may take a doctors assistance and we pray before a procedure. I pray all Christians put their total faith in the Lord when ever they face a trial or tribulation.
