“George, put that bottle of beer down , and get your clothes on. We are not going to make it if you don’t get going.”
“Slow down Mary, you worry about too many problems. We have plenty of time. I think I’ll just have one more beer for old times sake .”
“No, no, George, we don’t have plenty of time. We were warned to be cleaned and ready at Eternatime or it will be too late.”
“Mary, I’m tired of your nagging, let me alone, I know what I‘m doing. I think I’ll take a nap. Those guides are never on time anyway.”
With tears in her eyes, Mary started packing her bag. In went her Bible, then her study notes, her good deeds, her family and friends’ names and addresses and finally her newly pressed white robe. She laid out her robe on the bed, it was her prized possession. Mary had worked hard to win that robe. Some of her friends won theirs simply by sitting at the feet of the Master. Oh well, however they were obtained, they at least had them to wear.
“George, This is the last time I will be calling you. You’ve just crossed the line! There is no turning around. Oh George, I feel the wind starting hurry, Hurry! My White Robe is getting on me. Here I go, give me your hand. Hurry George, hurry George!”
“Wait, I need to get my cigarettes. My Robe has turned black! Mary, why didn’t you wait for me? I told you I would be ready in a little bit. Here’s my hand ! I can’t reach you. Wait Mary , Wait Mary!"
BANG - The door shuts. It’s too late. All George can see is the suitcase full of Mary‘s Things falling to the earth. George reaches out to catch the suitcase as it floats by. “I guess she didn’t need all those things she worked so hard for after all. Oh well, I can use them for myself when that call comes again. I’m sure they will look good on my resume’. I don’t see why everyone worries so much about doing good or sitting at the Masters feet. I just let Mary do all the work for me and then I’ll reap the benefits”
“GEORGE , you didn’t understand anything I told you in my Word. You thought you could get into Heaven on the coat tails of another. It just doesn’t work that way. I tried to tell you – Mary tried to tell you, but you didn’t want to hear. Now it’s too late. YOU lost your way out of Heaven all by yourself. In one second you lost out on life unto death. In one second you chose to spend eternity in hell. I have told you of my Heavenly rules in order to spend an eternity with me at the Table of the Lamb, but you chose your own way.
“All you needed to do in that last second of your life, was to sincerely ask for forgiveness from me for your disbelief and you lazy ways, and I would have forgiven you. But now it’s too late. I will not see you again until the White Throne Judgment Seat. Remember, it only took one second to repent for your life or one second unto death!"
