There’s a special allure, a certain “Je ne sais quoi” that some countries have. When we visit them we enjoy their special attractions and attentions. We come away in awe. For some of these nations it’s the culture, for some the climate, for some the quaintness and charm of their people, for some it’s their rulers and the wonderful programs they implement to demonstrate the love they have toward their fellow man. The country we’re spotlighting today has it all.

What is it about a particular class of men that sets them above others? I’ve concluded from my travels that it’s the heart. These men love their people so much that they’ve gone to extraordinary lengths to give them the very best. In this piece I’ll take a brief look at one such man – in one such country – a man with an amazing heritage, and how he’s carried on the fabulous traditions of his elders before him to make his homeland an outstanding place to vacation.

My world traveling friends: I want to introduce you to a nation you may never have considered visiting, but I assure you, once you come to appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of North Korea, you may never want to take your holiday leave in any other locale. Yes, you read that right: surprisingly fun North Korea!

Where else will you find the populace smiling at all times? Where else are you given the special attention of someone personally assigned to you to assist in your every need? This land is such a hidden gem. You see no stray dogs on any city streets. Pristine.

And, oh! I just can’t rave enough about the creative meat dishes I was served at every meal. When I inquired what they were, my host simply smiled, put his finger alongside his nose, and winked at me. What charm!

Everyone walks everywhere; there’re no overweight people to be seen. What a healthy populace in this paradise on earth!

I could go on and on. Let me, however, tell you about Kim Jong Un. He is the son of gods. Yes, indeed. His grandfather, Kim Il Sung, was – incredibly! – god himself. His father, Kim Jong Il, was god in the flesh: god incarnate. Now, young Kim carries on this tradition as the holy and righteous one, ordained and appointed to rule and reign in mercy and might. He encourages his people to love and honor his sacred forebears; and what a man of the people Mr. Kim is: so down to earth that he’s recently suffered a common man’s ailment – gout – that’s had him limping, just as I’ve seen so many of his fellow countrymen shuffling along. This is a man who identifies with others.

My personal travel guide took me to the marvelous church that is the centerpiece of Pyongyang. To watch the congregants as they worshipped in unison, giving all glory to their god, I was impressed. In too few places today do we see such dedication and reverence. Their shared Bible was so well kept it didn’t even look used. I got a chill up my spine observing this service.

The pièce de résistance of my trip was the reeducation centers. Now you might say to yourself that there’s a rather questionable history surrounding such places. Throw all your preconceived notions out the window. Living in one of these places is like attending summer camp with a special twist. The folks dwelling in these facilities farm the land they love, producing copious amounts of food for themselves and their countrymen. In fact they labor from early morn until late at night in their desire to bless and feed their nation.

Naturally any country has its malcontents, even one as heavenly minded as North Korea. These few who rebel against god and country naturally must be dealt with for the good of all. I got a peek into one of the harmony rooms, as my hosts called them, as they hustled me quickly away. They explained that the residents of these areas were ill at the moment, which clarifies why some were vomiting, and the weight loss many seemingly endured. I didn’t quite understand the odd, contorting positions that many of the occupants were strapped into, but again my personal attendant was very helpful. Their doctors have discovered new medical techniques unknown to other nations. They are being healed. Amazing!

Well, that wraps up our visit today. Come experience North Korea. You’ll never leave.
