‘Tis a grand and pleasurable thing.
Making melody to the Almighty,
To His Majesty, the Most High and the Holy.
Singing, not only on the mountain,
but also in the alleys and valleys,
in the summer and in the winter,
in the furnace and in the holy place.
Singing when it is a sacrifice,
even in the rain, at a great price
Drinking from the Holy Fountain
Gaining strength even from pains
Going from strength to strength.
Going from depth to depth
Growing from faith to faith.
Rising from height to height
Singing through thick and thin,
Singing until the race we win,
Let us sing with everything within.
O let us sing with unction and with passion,
Sing with dynamics and rhythm,
Sing in harmony in different tongues
Reaching, soaring like eagles
To His presence, the Throne of Grace
Joining the heavenly choir, sing.
Bring an anthem to my King.
I command every fibre within:
“Rise, ring, offer a sacrifice of praise.
Grace the heart of your King
Be a symphony of worship
Be an instrument of joy and delight.
Light up His face with your praiseâ€
