He sees the dreams of other days
Their lights, bright as ever
Moonbeams through the descending mist
He sees steel hands; battle ship prow
Pulsate on the rigours of sail
As unrelenting sinews splintered the waves
On the seas, shadows on wings mount
A dying day it is
Whose laurel studded with life giving stars
Shall wreathe other days
II
O crowned dust
Mystery within mystery
Plagued even before the first grain
In the balance between
Obeisanced at the airy feet
Abode of the virgin dew
Parched within purity
Forked Tongued in the wheel
Bursting thorns on roses:
The split blood that spins other deaths
In a shrine that reeks of glamorous stars-
The molten gold in decay
III
While at its zenith the luminous spell
Gather gemstones into stainless royal blue,
Buds on rods still sprout
For dark clouds, distant tarry
And will yet yield to shroud that hill
