I am very careful about the message in the cards. God has taught me that this is a wonderful way to spread the word about His Son that was give for our redemption and that is why we celebrate Christmas. It is my witnessing tool for Him.
God has given me a talent for writing about Him and Jesus in poetry form. So, as Christmas time nears, I start to thinking about the message for this year. It is a real joy to
know that I can tell my friends and family about my faith in my Savior. And, it is so simple to write a message and mail a card. It helps me to think that I have helped to give
them hope and a love for sharing Christ also.
One of my favorite little poems was written for a Sunday School teacher for her class to stand up in front of Church on Christmas and share with the congregation. She ask for six and I sent them to her. This one was a huge success. The last four lines read:
If I had been the innkeeper the night Jesus was born
I would have tried to provide a better place
For Mary to have held her new baby boy
And placed the first kiss on her Savior’s face.
Don’t think of Christmas cards as a chore each year. Think of them as a way to share the Gospel. You never know how a life can be touched with the right words about God.
Use the opportunity to express your love for a wonderful Savior. The world needs to hear about Him from us believers.
