our hands entwined in love.
We share a secret glance
and praise our God above.
Our journey’s been a sweet one.
We’ve grown in faith and trust.
Our eyes look up to Jesus
because we know He’s just.
We started dating early,
in our young teen age years.
We took our kin’s advice
and not that of our peers.
We abstained from casual sex;
immersed ourselves in prayer;
and kept Jesus as our partner
He went with us everywhere.
Our journey on this day
will make us husband and wife.
We will then carry on
with this journey of life.
The man who blesses us
and then we become one,
looked to the crowd and asked,
“Is there anything more fun?”
He looked at both of us
and with tears in his eyes,
he proclaimed us a couple.
Oh, what a God-given prize!
We rejoiced in His love.
We glorified His name.
We praised our Father above
and bade all to do the same.
