Drugs had eat me up. I lost my wife and my job. My children
had forgotten who I was. And I was homeless in the in the street,
my mind was like mush. I was lose in who I was. My clothes were
tattered, and I felt like I had chains on my feet.
I knelt down in my dirty alley and prayed. "Dear Father What have
I done? I have lose all the things in my life and I am stuck in
sexual immorality, slander, and lying. I sin everyday and am
hopeless lost in the mire of lies. My enemies set traps for me.
my family disowns me and laugh at my fate. The police harass me
endlessly."
"I am afraid You have turned away from me. I cannot hear Your Voice. Forgive me my sins for they are many. My cup of life is empty, and my table lacks the food I sorely need to sustain myself. You have left me to the perils of the dogs of life and I don't know what to do."
I got up to my feet, and walked aimlessly through the deserted street.
I kept praying as I walked "take my life Lord, it is no longer good to me." I stood on the curb watching some cars go by. I thought of stepping out in front of one. But they all passed by and I cowardly stepped back from the curb.
Just as I looked around, I saw a sign across the street that read Mission. Was this God's answer to me? I crossed the street and stood looking at to sign. I could hear music and people singing a hymn call "Old Rigged Cross" My eyes welled up and I started to cry.
A Man in white walked up to me and said, "Why don't you go in, I know you will find what you need?" I looked at the door then back to where the Man was standing, He was gone. Was this God answering my prayers? I walked into to the mission, the pastor beckoned me to come in and sit down.
When the meeting had broken up, the pastor approached me. Smiling he said, I knew you were coming. I've seen you in that alley many times and have prayed for you to come." He hugged me and said, "Son you are home." I felt he was right.
I have been walking the plan God has planned for me ever since. My life has changed and I found out God was with me all the days of my life, I just didn't know it. I've been clean and sober for ten years. I owe it all to the night I saw that sign, Mission.
