“Yeah,” Samantha agreed. “Did I understand correctly? We are to research mud?” Samantha snarled her nose.
“Well, this IS a geology class.” Angela brushed her hair back from her face with a flip of her hand. “See you at Bible Study tonight.”
Two days later the geology professor scanned his class. “Clear your desk except for one sheet of paper and a pencil,” he intoned. “You have ten minutes to tell me everything you know about ‘mud’.”
While Angela was writing furiously, one young man tossed his sheet on the professor’s desk with one surly statement, “This assignment was clear as mud.”
After class Angela met up with Samantha. “That assignment turned out more interesting than I anticipated.”
Samantha’s eyebrows shot up. “How so?”
“Well, one website I looked at claims that playing in mud boosts the immune system and mental health. Other websites implied that mud baths can help the body heal.”
“Right,” exclaimed Samantha. “That made me think about Jesus putting mud on the blind man’s eyes.”
“For sure!” Angela nodded her head. “Maybe that wasn’t such a crazy thing to do after all.”
Samantha chuckled. “Yeah, God used mud to reveal His truth. The Pharisees thought Jesus’ teaching was ‘clear as mud’, but He made the blind man’s sight ‘clear with mud’!”
