Odd jobs fighting for my time
Calls demanding
Reassessing
Arranging all the time
Stories mixed in files unnamed
Thesaurus with synonyms
Inspire search for still more words
Nouns commanding
Attention
Time and tide will wait no more
Information overwhelms
Never get my writing done now
Gruesome end: an empty file.
Procrastination comes in many guises with numerous excuses. Excuses turn up without explanation. Sometimes they come with realistic justifications. Whatever the case, my writing gets disrupted.
Unexpected overnight guests take my writing space; phone calls come with various needs; fridge breaks down destroying valuable medicine. Insurance calls, searching for ways to work out problems.
How did my intentions and plans vanish?
Daily writing has been interrupted – daily. Is there a formula? There are abundant suggestions out there on how to get beyond the obstructions of postponing whatever needs to get done. While searching for words of wisdom and encouragement I’m still procrastinating.
Excuses won’t get me anywhere when the final deadline is here.
